Community Events

The Scott County Humane Society believes that building a compassionate community starts with education and engagement. Throughout the year, our volunteers and staff participate in a variety of community events to share information about our mission, introduce adoptable animals, and promote responsible pet ownership. By attending local festivals, fairs, school programs, community celebrations, and other public gatherings, we have the opportunity to connect directly with residents and answer questions about animal welfare in our community.

These events provide an important platform for raising awareness about pet adoption, spay and neuter programs, animal care resources, and volunteer opportunities. Community members can learn how the Humane Society works to improve the lives of animals through rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts. Many people are surprised to discover the wide range of services and support available through the organization, and face-to-face conversations help strengthen understanding of the challenges facing homeless and neglected animals.

Most importantly, community events give us the chance to inspire kindness and responsible stewardship toward animals. When children and adults meet our volunteers and learn about the impact of animal rescue, they become part of the solution. Through education, outreach, and community involvement, the Scott County Humane Society continues to advance its mission of protecting animals, promoting humane treatment, and helping pets find loving forever homes.
