The Scott County Humane Society is 100% volunteer-run. Our volunteers make our lifesaving work possible, and we truly could not do this without them. We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities—from hands-on animal care to behind-the-scenes support roles. If you have a skill or volunteer idea not listed below, we’d love to hear from you!

Foster

Fostering is one of the most impactful ways to help animals in need. By opening your home to a cat or dog temporarily, you give them a safe, loving place to grow, heal, and prepare for adoption. Our humane society provides all the support you need—supplies, guidance, and veterinary care—so you can focus on giving an animal the comfort and stability they deserve.
