Get hands-on with the animals! Help socialize cats, walk and play with dogs, provide enrichment, groom pets, and give our animals the attention and love they need while waiting for their forever homes.

Open your home and save a life. Foster volunteers provide temporary homes for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies—including animals that may need extra TLC, recovery time or a break from the Adoption Center.

Be one of the friendly faces that welcomes visitors to SCHS! Greet guests, give tours, introduce potential adopters to pets and help people learn more about adoption, fostering and our programs.

Put your creative talents to work for the animals! Help photograph and video adoptable pets, write pet bios, create social media content or tell the stories to help animals find homes & inspire people to support our mission.

Not every lifesaving job involves holding a puppy! Help with laundry, dishes, organizing supplies, cleaning, stocking, preparing materials, and the many behind-the-scenes jobs that keep the Adoption Center running smoothly.

Use your organizational skills to help behind the scenes. Volunteers can assist with data entry, mailings, filing, phones, preparing materials and other office projects that keep SCHS organized and efficient.

Experienced volunteers can help welcome the next generation of SCHS volunteers. Serve as a mentor, help orient newcomers, lead projects and share your knowledge with people just getting started.

Have a talent we haven't thought of? We may need you! Photography, carpentry, landscaping, graphic design, writing, fundraising, accounting, event planning, education, vet skills and many other talents can make a difference.

Have a car and a little time? Help transport animals to veterinary appointments, spay/neuter clinics, adoption events or other destinations—and know that every mile you drive helps an animal on its journey to a better life.

Help pets stay with the families who love them. Volunteers can organize and distribute pet food, assist with supplies, and support SCHS programs that provide resources to pet owners in our community.

Help us take the SCHS mission into the community. Represent SCHS at schools, community events, civic groups, and businesses while sharing information about responsible pet ownership, spay/neuter, adoption, and animal welfare.

Love a good party—or know how to raise money? Help with SCHS events, sponsorships, auction items, donor outreach, mailings, fundraising activities and community events throughout the year.

Handy with tools or have a green thumb? Help us keep our new Adoption Center looking its best through landscaping, gardening, seasonal cleanup, painting, minor repairs and special projects.

Want to be someone we can call when extra hands are needed? Join our list of volunteers who may be available for emergency fosters, transportation, supply organization or other unexpected needs.

Bring your coworkers, club, church, school or community group together for a day of service. Groups can help with special projects, landscaping, events, supply organization, enrichment projects and other needs.
