Host an Event or Fundraiser
Every community-hosted fundraiser makes a meaningful difference for the Scott County Humane Society. These events provide support for animal care while building awareness and fostering a stronger network of advocates for local pets in need.
Scott County Humane Society is grateful for the continued support of our community. Community-hosted events and public engagement opportunities play an important role in helping us save lives, educate the public, and build meaningful partnerships.
To ensure we can properly review and respond to event opportunities, we ask that all individuals, businesses, and organizations complete our Community Event Request form before hosting a fundraising event on our behalf or inviting us to attend a community event. Review the Community Event Guidelines and see below for more information on the types of events, why we ask for so much detail in the form, and what to expect if you host an event for us.
Types of Community Events
Because different types of events have different requirements of the host and the Scott County Humane Society, we've broken them down into two types.

Third-Party
Fundraising Events
Events planned and hosted by community members, businesses, or organizations to benefit Scott County Humane Society.

Community
Engagement Events
Public events where Scott County Humane Society is invited to attend for outreach, education, volunteer recruitment, or awareness.
What to Expect
Scott County Humane Society is a volunteer-run organization, and the majority of our animals are in foster care. Participation in events—including the number of volunteers or animals able to attend—depends on availability and must be confirmed in advance.
For third-party fundraising events, organizers are responsible for all planning, logistics, promotion, obtaining permits, and executing the event. Our team will review each request and provide support where possible, but submission of this form does not guarantee attendance or participation.
Why We Ask You to Apply
The Event Request Application allows us to:
-
Review event details and assess feasibility
-
Coordinate volunteer and animal availability
-
Ensure the safety and welfare of our animals
-
Maintain clear communication and expectations
-
Support successful partnerships with our community
Next Steps
Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our team. A representative from Scott County Humane Society will contact you to discuss availability, expectations, and next steps. Please allow time for review, as we rely on volunteer capacity.
Thank you for thinking of Scott County Humane Society and for helping us continue our lifesaving work.
